Biography
Born in Lamego, he completed in the course in Plastic Arts at the E.S.B.A.P. in 1978. He had a scholarship with the F.C.G. and the J.N.I.C.T. in Portugal
e abroad and in 2001 of the Goethe Institute of Dresden in Germany. He is currently the associate professor and Chairman of the Scientific Board of the
F.B.A.U.P. He has also devoted himself to writing about art and artistic education.
The works of Francisco Laranjo have developed in the context of a gestual abstractionism which is vast, with great tension and with great pictorial
freedom. His works reflect the grand gesture and the intrinsic value of colour.
