Biography
Born in Oporto, trained in Painting by the E.S.B.A.P, he had a scholarship with the F.C.G. and the Ventura Terra Legacy. Between 1968 and 1970 he was
a teacher and director at the Academy of Fine Arts of Funchal and from 1971 onwards he taught at the E.S.B.A.L. Besides painting, he carried out
scenarios for ballet. After exploring cut and superimposed forms, Justino Alves developed purely pictorial or plastic fields in works with great visual
impact. At certain times, the adoption of great signs is also clear.
