Biography
She attended E.S.B.A.P. between 1958 and 1964 where she graduated in sculpture. Between 1963 and 1970 she worked in ceramics in Aveiro. Later
she graduated in Ethnology in Paris and became a teacher at the E.S.B.A.L.. She was one of the members of the “Acre” Group which was dedicated to
performances, various plastic works and street actions from 1974 onwards. She is the author of monuments and public facilities.
The work of Clara Menéres was carried out in a field of great experimentalism, thoroughly exploring innovative materials, bringing in neon light
elements, transparency effects, combining stone and glass. The result is an extremely attractive, seductive work.
