“Sons no Museu” with new programme from June to September.

15 June, 2023

“Sons no Museu” is back and the programme is set for the months of June to September. Different sounds promise to involve the public in the cloister of the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Municipal Museum, in a more intimate atmosphere; ideal for meeting friends late on Friday afternoons, which can be extended to dinner in one of the city's restaurants, or even invited to spend a weekend.

The first concert is on Friday 30 with "DryadesDuo", bringing together Polish violinist Natalia Konik and Italian pianist Francesca Serafini for a musical moment to share and publicise their origins and cultures.

On 21 July, traditional Brazilian music will take centre stage with the duo "Inevitável", made up of trumpeter Gileno Santana, a big name on the international scene, and guitarist Gabriel Selvage, a musician with a refined technique.

On 18 August, the musical project "Cindazunda" will perform an instrumental show of original compositions inspired by ancestral dances, with new sounds from folk music. The project brings together Hugo Oliveira on saxophone, transverse flute and bagpipes, João Fragoso on double bass, João Tavares on concertina and Rodrigues Vila on drums to create a distinctive and original sound universe, constituting one of the most progressive proposals of the neo-trad current in Portugal.

Southern European rhythms are the proposal for the last concert, on 22 September, by the trio Pedro Viana, João Martins and Diana Ferreira. The repertoire includes original compositions by Pedro Viana, João Martins and influential folk bands such as Gaiteiros de Lisboa and Milladoiro. Traditional Iberian music will also be represented with songs from Minho, Trás-os-Montes, Galicia and Burgos.

The "Sons do Museu" series of showcases will start at 7pm and admission is free.

Showcasing the museum's capabilities, increasing and diversifying the cultural offer and creating new habits are the main objectives of this initiative.
