SAB´Arte highlights personalities from Amarante from January to March.

17 January, 2023

In the first quarter of 2023, SAB´Arte will highlight personalities from Amarante. São Gonçalo, Acácio Lino and Agustina Bessa-Luís will be remembered from January to March at the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Municipal Museum, through activities that will challenge the community to participate and explore different techniques.

On 21 January, between 10am and 11:30am, SAB'Arte "São Gonçalo e as suas marotices" will tell the stories, legends and miracles of Amarante's patron saint. Understanding the historical importance of São Gonçalo, the religious, cultural and artistic manifestations in different eras, and recognising material and immaterial heritage are the main objectives of this activity for all ages. At the end, participants will also learn about the process of making the phallic sweet with the help of professionals from the Pardal Bakery.

SAB´Arte activities are free of charge, but registration is required.

Created as part of the Educational Project programme of the Culture Department of the Municipality of Amarante, SAB´Arte returns on 18 February with theme “Recordando… Acácio Lino” and 18 March for “Descobrir Sensações… with Agustina Bessa-Luís”.
