28 July, 2022

The Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Municipal Museu mis showing the exhibition “Porto – Paris – New York”, by the artist Isabel Pavão, until September 18, 2022, from 10am to 12:30pm and between 2pm and 6pm, except on Mondays and public holidays.

Curated by Laura Castro, "Porto - Paris - New York" presents Isabel Pavão's works from the Impressions Series, from 2018 and 2019. Completing this production will also be pieces from previous series: Vestiges, Linguistic Boundaries Series and Oriental Series, Americana Series and Atmospheres.

"This illustrates the artist's two-way transit between Porto, Paris and New York, which results in the references that her work incorporates, the cultural resonances that it manifests and the artistic and other issues that it proposes. The material on display reveals the permanence of the processes of conception, composition and materialization of painting, explored since her inaugural series. It also reveals the way in which he relates the exterior universe and the intimate sphere, sometimes understanding them as a mirror, sometimes fragmenting them into layers and disarticulating them into shards," explains Laura Castro.

"Porto - Paris - New York" arrives in Amarante, after having been presented at the Cooperativa Árvore in Porto and the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes in Lisbon.
