Biography
Born in Oliveira de Azeméis, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Oporto. He won prizes at the salons of the S.N.B.A. in 1899, 1890 and 1905. He
was a pupil of Soares do Reis and later developed a career as a statue-maker not without controversy and without great invention such as the Statue of
the Prince erected in Oporto, opposite the Commercial Association building.
