SARAH AFFONSO

Biography
Born in Lisbon, she studied in Lisbon and in Paris where she remained for two phases in the 1920's. She undertook illustration works, she was
dedicated to drawing and painting. She was married to Almada Negreiros.
Her childhood spent in the Minho would leave marks in her works, in folklore aspects, linked with religious and popular festivities, decorative motifs,
bright colours and a certain naïve nature, seeming to unlearn. From around the 1940's until the last years of her life, she interrupted her pictorial
production and basically resumed drawing.
