Biography
Born in Oporto, he graduated from the E.S.B.A.P. whereafter he had several study visits to European countries. He is the author of illustrations,
ceramic panels, in mosaics and frescos, scenes and figurines. The career of Resende evolved from an initial stage, slightly characterised by neo-realistic
figuration to lively cycles of plastic figuration with dull colours, receiving influences from the environment in which the painter was involved (Alentejo,
Póvoa, etc.). The 1960's was characterised by an approach to abstraction, of a material nature, thereafter returning in subsequent decades to free
figuration, released from structures and with intense chromatism.
