Biography
Born in V.N. Gaia, he graduated from the E.S.B.A.P. in 1912. He is the author of various monuments at public locations, notably: Monuments to the
Deaths of the Great War in various locations, monuments for Oporto, Paredes, Paços de Ferreira, Barcelos and Tomar and decorative figures, busts and
low-reliefs for County Councils, theatres and churches as well as numerous medals.
His work always remained in a figurative sphere of academism. The figure in the pose and a limited iconography of the hero, of the show or the civic
and justice values fully corresponded to the kind of public orders which he received.
