EDUARDO TAVARES

Biography
Born in S. João da Pesqueira, he graduated from the E.S.B.A.P. in Sculpture in 1945 where he taught. He was on a scholarship from the French
government, he travelled around several European countries and frequented the École Nationale Supérieure de Beaux-Arts de Paris. He has sculpture in
various public spaces such as the S. João Hospital, Oporto (figure by Ricardo Jorge), Bissau (Diogo Gomes), Oliveira de Azeméis (the Fiftieth Anniversary
of the Death of the Emigré of the Literary Activity of Ferreira de Castro), Águeda (António Breda).
He carried out discreet activity without ever abandoning figurativism, denoting a preference for the human figure in expressive, refined pieces.
