Biography
Born in Régua, she was educated by the E.S.B.A.P. where she worked as an Engraving technology monitor between 1977 and 1979. She was part of
the “Série” group of artists. Armanda Passos has defined her pictorial production by a great constancy of media, resources, attitudes and dominant
motifs. A consistent career, dominated by large and somewhat enigmatic figures which are cut and contoured in strict lines. Figures of women and birds,
hybrid or undefined creatures, intertwined or superimposed, which lend a hint of the fantasy in this painting with intense, bright colours.
