Biography
Born in Mozambique, he graduated from the E.S.B.A.P. which he attended as from 1955. In 1963 he became a teacher at said school. He had a
scholarship with the F.C.G. and the British Council in London (1967-68). Besides painting and drawing, he was dedicated to sculpture and the drawing up
of scenarios and figurines for the Experimental Theatre of Oporto (1962-67). He was one of the founders of the Oporto Group “Quatro Vintes”.
He developed an extremely contained, refined set of works by way of elementary signs or fields of light and colour treated in a very subtle way.
