Biography
Born in Amarante, Acácio Lino studied at the Oporto Academy of Fine Arts where he was later to teach Historic Drawing. He studied in Paris where he
displayed at the Salon. He has works at the Oporto City Council and he was one of the decorators of the S. João Theatre in the same city.
The substantial part of his work, besides figures and scenes of a rustic nature, was developed in the area of the Painting of History. In an era when art
was already taking many directions, Acácio Lino became one of the latest painters linked to academic education.
